The Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse team (BVL) went undefeated in their three preseason scrimmages against schools from New York, Pennsylvania and Colorado.
Under the guidance of first-year coach Scott Giusti, the team travelled to Naples, Florida during the second week of spring break. BVL captain and attackman Jake Kavet ’27 said the scrimmages and time together helped integrate the new players.
“It was good for confidence and getting some of the younger guys acclimated to higher-level lacrosse.”
For Jake, the trip was a good opportunity to get familiar with the new leadership.
“Coach Giusti laid his ground rules with the team and told us his expectations effort-wise, energy-wise and execution-wise,” he said.
BVL attackman Jack Egan ’28 explained that the focus of the trip was to mesh as a team and create the foundation for a strong season.
“The lacrosse piece is a big part of it, obviously, but the main idea of the trip was the camaraderie,” Jack said. “Getting to know everyone off the field ultimately made a great impact on the field.”
